The Tree and Stone Is Almost Here

Six years is a long time between books.

Long enough that I’ve had more than a few moments where I wondered if the sequel would ever actually happen. When I wrote A Leaf and Pebble, I always imagined the story continuing. Nil and the rest of the characters had a lot more road ahead of them, and I had a rough sense of where that road might lead.

What I didn’t anticipate was how stubborn real life and my own writing habits could be.

So before anything else, I owe readers an apology. The gap between the first book and this one took far longer than I ever intended.

That said, I’m happy to finally say the wait is nearly over.

The Tree and Stone, the sequel to A Leaf and Pebble, is now available for pre-order and will release on March 24.

This new installment picks up the story where the first book left off and continues exploring the strange corners of Balteris. If you enjoyed the first adventure, I hope you’ll consider joining me for the next one.

For indie authors, pre-orders make a bigger difference than most people realize. They help the book reach new readers and give it a little momentum when it launches.

Updates to the First Book

Alongside the sequel’s release, A Leaf and Pebble is also getting a bit of attention. There’s a new cover and a handful of small updates inside the book. Nothing major, just some polishing and improvements that felt worth making.

Audiobooks in Progress

Another project currently underway is the audiobook side of things.

I’m in the process of hiring a new narrator who will record both books so the voices remain consistent across the series. The plan is to redo the audiobook for A Leaf and Pebble first and then follow it with the recording for The Tree and Stone.

Audiobooks take time to produce, but they’re definitely on the way.

Looking Ahead to Book Three

The story doesn’t stop here.

Book three has officially begun. Pen has met paper. It’s still early days, but the next chapter of the series is starting to take shape.

I can promise one thing: it won’t take another six years.

That said, writing has never been something I do quickly or with perfect discipline, so it will probably still take a year or two before the next book is ready.
